DESCRIPTION:Discover how to become a life-saving resource in your community with SafeTALK\, a suicide alertness training course developed by LivingWorks and delivered by the team at The Mental Health Coach in collaboration with the City of Darebin. \nDownload a flyer about this course here. You can read more about the SafeTALK program here. \nFor over three years\, we have delivered contextualised programs specifically designed to support the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people. \nUnderstanding the principles of suicide intervention is paramount in today’s society\, where mental health challenges and the risk of suicide are pervasive. By learning about suicide intervention\, you gain the knowledge and skills to recognise warning signs\, engage in open and empathetic conversations\, and guide those in crisis towards professional support. You can read more about the content of the program here. \nThis program is not only about saving lives but also about fostering a culture of empathy\, understanding\, and mental wellness. Through suicide intervention training\, people become advocates for destigmatising mental health challenges and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable seeking help and support. \nGain the skills and confidence to recognise and respond to individuals at risk\, ultimately making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. \nEntry to the program \nEntry to the program is via an expression of interest process.
